...Stonesway is a country with many kingdoms and each one bears a Stone. Although these kingdoms vary in size and shape, their quintessential differences are defined by their Stones. For each Stone fosters a unique partnership between the varied inhabitants and their lands. These communities also share two other commonalities: one being magisterial and the other being geographical. In rule, they are sovereign and ruled by Queens--who are the bearers of the Stones. And geographically, they are protected by four monumental structures. The western border is defined by the Kiemon Hills, a massive but dead mountain range. To the east lies the Lanta Ocean which breaks against the mighty Ridgeview Mountain Range. In the north, the Canam Wall, with the assistance of Lake Supigan, keeps the wilds of the Northern Tundra at bay. And the southern Turum Wall defends against the roaming sand of the Ico Desert and the destructive waves of the Gulf of Meribia.
For a thousand years, the sixteen kingdoms of Stonesway have celebrated the love of life. The Stones had not only enlightened humanity but elevated all life to be it's equal. The dominant rule of man had been eradicated. Peace and prosperity have reigned for centuries. This 5th Age--albeit the Mystical Age of Enlightenment, had become nothing more than a heaven on Earth--a time of the spirit--the age of the Stones.
